Mauritian private sector ready for invest in Nepal energy sector

During the recent visit of His Excellency Mr. H.E Dillum Haymandoyal, the esteemed High Commissioner for the Republic of Mauritius to India, to the Independent Power Producer’s Association Nepal (IPPAN), diplomatic exchanges underscored the profound cultural affinity and fraternal connection shared between Nepal and Mauritius.

Dillum, highlighting Mauritius’ extensive track record of investment across diverse sectors in various nations in Africa, emphasized the pivotal role of the private sector as the primary driver of economic progress, with the public sector acting as a supportive facilitator. Recognizing Nepal’s significance within Mauritius’ expansive consumer market, discussions centered on fostering mutually beneficial partnerships.

In this context, particular attention was drawn to the forthcoming Himalayan Hydro Expo, slated for April 24-26, 2024, wherein Dillum noted the potential for meaningful engagement and collaboration from the Mauritian private sector.

Dillum also highlighted the opportunity for both nations to mutually invest in each other’s economies, fostering a robust exchange of experiences and expertise within the private sectors of both countries.
